CIM115.1 Milestone 3
With the first presentation just around the corner I think I have most of my ducks in a row. The first assessment looks like it will turn out well. I’ve seen some others open their PowerPoint/prezi presentations and see mountains of text and panels. This might be a stark opposite to me where I have less slides and text and often hide my data in the comments for me to reference during the presentation.
In class we looked at hard vs soft skills. Most of which I remember Simone (another lecturer) mentioning in a past trimester. So summaries.
Hard Skills = Technical skills/skills that can be taught and acquired
Soft Skills = Interpersonal skills. The skills that display you as person to another.
I think I have soft skills covered working in retail. 5 Years McDonald’s, 1 Year restaurant/cafe/function center and 3 years Coles gives me an edge in this degree I believe.
The hard skills, though ever changing with the technology , are not lost to me. This course for one has developed my audio engineering prowess and I like to think editing down a podcast every week keeps my hard skills somewhat sharp.
